Lots of ways, but would require writing some code. Amount of code depending on how difficult you want to make them able to Delete it.
From the beginning (1976), I have assumed that the programs would be used by idiots thus requiring the use of lots of edits/confirmations. For example, it's impossible to post a payment to the wrong invoice, or to post the same check on the same date etc., or delete a monthly report unless it has correctly printed and confirmed. Also known as MURPHY'S LAW.
