has anyone tried to use @(SET variable) in a print line?

I've done this many times... SET a variable to a value to align columns on a report print line

got a strange result when I re-compiled under 468 and run as comet16

there seem to be extra blanks which throws off the horizontal spacing and alignment... copied the print lines into UE and found they're actual spaces ("@20@") not some invisible noise.

my first thought was that there are some kind of \x00 characters so I've left a blank between each field... didn't help

another thought is that filling part of the print line and then backing up (to the left) into the print line steps on some control characters... just don't know

my last resort will be to use the (#) file to edit the numeric fields and then string it together with concatenations (+)... but that's so lame.

any ideas would be welcomed.

thanx

P.S> the ??'s in the edited fields were done to remove pricing information
