I misspoke... the operator typed in SPL, which is:
Spool = SPL,$(LTL);
Printer = LTL,X ,X,SPL:TXTSPL,TXT,EXTPTR,;
but the password DRS doesn't have SPL in its directory list
I wouldn't think it ever got to SPL Directory
if ST1 had been typed in.... then
Spool = ST1,$(LT1);
Printer = LT1,X ,X,STX:DRSTXT1,TXT,EXTPTR,;
in this instance, STX is in the Directory list, and it works fine
we only use SP1 for invoices
Spool = SP1,$(LPX);
Printer = LPX,P ,X,SPX:DRSPDF1,COMET-PDF,,;
in that case, SPX is in the Directory list, and it works fine
the problem was using SPL which points to Spoolers and Printers that are not in the Directory list
such is my (very) minimal understanding of the Spooler/Printer setup
