I just went through changing my list view programs for recent C2K4 & 5 changes to make sure they were sized up properly. Mainly no botton scroll bar and no "..." in the display are. See ssa_start.jpg.
One of my customers, just upgraded to C2K4.343 and the new list view programs, called and complained that on some of their workstations (XP) the scroll bar and "..." were being displayed. I didn't capture a screen shot.
So, I tried the two things I know how to control. The font size in the display area and the width of the Comet extended window and the "view". I played with reducing the font size but that yielded too small a type size. So, I gradualy widened the extended window and the view until I had something I thought would work in Full screen mode and in a "normal" window. The extended window fit inside the parent window and there was no scroll bar across the bottom. See ssa_full.jpg and ssa_norm_jpg.
The changes worked fine at the customer in Full screen mode. But, in "normal" mode, the right side of the extended window was off the screen. See nnj_full.jpg and nnj_norm.jpg.
Right now I'm using fixed values for width, view, and font size. What can I get from Comet/Windows about the parent window that would allow me to correctly proportion the child window.
