From the log it looks like you are getting to the point where comet tries to contact the file server. It is using port 11751. Do you have
that port blocked somehow?
Is the address for the server (192.168.1.100) really the correct address for that computer when using the VPN?
For best performance, CometAnywhere from Signature Systems would be much better than running a Comet node over a VPN. You should check it out.
