Oh woe is me

I love upgrading Comet. I especially love upgrading when I'm 400 miles from the customer, the customer is not comfortable copying files, my connection uses VNC (which has no file transfer capability) andTHE SECURITY SERVER DOES NOT START UP when the server is rebooted. The database server starts, but the security server does not.Why do it do that? What can I do to fix things? HELP.....
