Well, I spent several days looking at Signature's Fax offerings. I found at least 3 different Fax solutions developed in the last 20 years or so. There was a CAS modem solution published in those good old DOS days of Comet Version 504. There was a Fax printer published in 1999 or 2000. And, there is the current Fax Gateway/printer.

I Got rid of the old cruft in our documentation and combined several documents into one comprehensive document: http://www.signature.net/ib/Fax.Htm. Please check it out.

The current fax software was developed between 2002 and 2004. While it lacks some small features, I think it is more than adequate for normal day-today faxing.

My wish list for it is:

  1. There is no fax print for html files.

  2. There is no client/server concept.

  3. There is no Monitoring facility outside of log files potentially written in IB.

Please check out the documentation and let me know if we should add or modify anything.

If anyone has a Fax application they wish to share, let us know.
