I tried compiling from UE using Comet32 and I got an error saying it couldn't find a dir matching the pathname of my source file. This turned out to be a difference in the way Comet32 returned the pathname. I changed CosM32 to accommodate either way and now it works just fine. But this is not the problem you're seeing?? Does it work if you try it from Comet16? You mention your TMP folder. Please post your startup details from Comet32 and comet.ini. Maybe there's a clue there.
