After reviewing past input we received from you about the .d00 mechanism, we're discussing some changes. Here are some things we're considering:
1) Remove the requirement that the .d00 must reside in the same Comet directory as the actual file. Instead the .d00 may reside in any accessed Comet directory. It may represent more than one actual file with the same attributes.
2) Add multi-keyed file support to Data Express and the Report Generator spec language.
3) Support CED-format Reporter spec files with the latest Reporter enhancements (8000-byte records, nested expressions, etc).
Would these proposed changes make our reporting software products easier to use?
