Comet Workstations losing connection to server

We have a 40user installation running the latest Comet Workstation and server programs and are running into strange error 9B’s & 61’s on the workstations from time to time (the customer had the same problem when they were running Comet2006). The Server is running MS Server 2003 R2. All PC’s are win2000 or XP Pro.

The Cfam log says the connection timed-out (see attached log files). Sometimes the user (workstation) can exit Comet and restart ok. Other times every workstation hangs and no user can connect to the Comet Server unless the server is rebooted or the Comet Services on the server are re-started. The Comet workstation will report when restarting that it cannot find the Comet Server N01 – 10.1.1.253 and then list all the configured Comet Directories as not found. The strange thing is when this happens Comet says it can’t find the server, but the user/workstation/pc can see all its network resources including the Comet server and directories. The user can also run other programs on the network and also get out to the internet.

They are not using a DHCP server. All IP addresses are manually set on all machines.

I have attached some log files. Has anyone else seen this problem before?

Thanks in advance,
